There is little doubt when complete, Mary Harbour, to be developed on the riverfront at Maryborough, will be the new face of the region. The city, already boasting magnificent heritage, architecture, museums, theatres and parklands will add a landmark riverfront icon to its list of major attractions.

In the same way that Southbank in Brisbane, Darling Harbour in Sydney and Docklands in Melbourne have added a new dimension to their inner city areas, Mary Harbour has been masterplanned to be the complete residential, retail and leisure destination.

The vision of Maryborough Sugar, Mary Harbour will be a permanent address for some 3500 people. Its centrepiece will be the floating marina with its Village Centre, boardwalk and ferry wharf. Totalling 1315 lots and fanning out from this area will be a series of riverfront, parkview and lakeside residential precincts designed for a variety of demographic groups.

A Logical Expansion

The Maryborough Sugar Factory Limited has owned this parcel of sugar cane producing land for over 50 years and, to redevelop the property is a measured step, in keeping with the company's strategy, to unlock value in the property portfolio.

Driven by encroaching residential development of Maryborough, the logical expansion to the north east, the decision to develop was evolutionary, community minded and for our stakeholders, financially astute.

As a result, the proposed "Mary Harbour" project will, in time, generate the necessary funds to acquire additional farming land to increase the total sugar cane production.
